Welcome to Mental Health Books for Kids!

If your kids have any type of mental health disorder, whether they’ve officially been diagnosed or not, we understand the battle you’re going through. I’m sure that you feel lost. You might even feel like it’s your fault that your kids are struggling. You have probably searched long and hard for a solution that might help you see some light at the end of the tunnel.

We’re here to tell you that you’re not alone. You might feel like it, but many of us parents are going through the same thing… probably even at this very moment. 

Hi! We’re Eli and Mandy Adams. We have 4 beautiful children that have struggled with mental health issues all from very young ages. We tried therapy, we attended parenting classes, we read books, we listened to podcasts, and we tried many different kinds of medication in hopes to find a solution to help our children live better lives and potentially turn their weaknesses into strengths. 

The main reason we’ve decided to write this book series is to hopefully help people like you find a solution to your problems faster than it took us. That may not be possible, but we’re not going to let that stop us from trying. 

Each book has clearly laid out instructions on exercises and processes that we have learned over the years to help our children take control and live the life they want to live. It’s not an all-inclusive medical journal or anything, but we’re hoping that you can grab onto these tools and apply them to your own lives. 

We’re also out to normalize conversations about mental health and empower families like ours to navigate their unique challenges confidently, fostering a compassionate, understanding, and resilient community.

Luci Tames Her Tiger is a charming yet profound story. It portrays anxiety in a way that is relatable and easy to understand. “Luci Tames Her Tiger” is a brilliantly insightful tale about managing anxiety. The narrative, backed by vibrant illustrations, uses a shape-shifting tiger as a metaphor, teaching an invaluable lesson about resilience and courage in kids. It’s an empowering and relatable five-star book in my opinion. It’s a must-read.

Luci Tames Her Tiger – Managing The Anxiety Within

Luci has an imaginary pet tiger. What’s more, her tiger is somewhat of a shapeshifter. When Luci is calm and relaxed, the tiger shrinks down to the size of a cuddly cub. But when Luci is anxious, her tiger grows bigger, until it becomes very difficult to manage. When Luci gets an invitation to Clover’s birthday party, she wishes she could be excited. Instead, her tiger is growing and growing with each anxious thought that passes through Luci’s mind.

At school, everyone is talking about the party. When it all gets too much, Luci leaves the room and Clover follows her to check if she is okay. Luci’s tiger is very protective and wants Luci to be left alone. But Luci finds her voice and learns that talking about her fears can be a big help.

Luci and her tiger work at finding ways to keep each other calm. Between these efforts and Clover’s kindness, Luci hopes she will not only attend her best friend’s party but enjoy it too!
